ABOUT SLOWTRENDS

Trends move fast. So fast that before we’ve fully noticed them, they’ve already been replaced.

In today’s world, trends often feel disposable — designed for quick consumption, rapid turnover, and instant relevance.

Slowtrends was born as a response to that.

We should be focusing on what isn't fast. Some things grow slowly, quietly, and over time. The habits we return to. The rituals that ground us. The ways of living that feel natural long after the novelty has worn off.

Slowtrends focuses on this different kind of trend — one that isn’t defined by a season, a launch, or a moment of hype. These are the trends that endure. The ones rooted in intention, consistency, and a slower pace of living.

Since its inception in 2017 as a small blog that tried to shed some light on habits and tips for a more conscious way of living, Slowtrends has grown and evolved into a multi-disciplinary studio that helps people live with purpose. From mindful routines and conscious consumption to thoughtful design, wellness, and everyday rituals that make life feel more intentional.

At its core, Slowtrends exists to help people live more sustainable lives — not through quick fixes, but through lasting habits and informed decisions. We work at the intersection of sustainability, design, and intentional living, focusing on how people live in their homes, the choices they make, and the systems they build around everyday life.

Our work is rooted in education: teaching simplicity, reuse, and waste reduction by encouraging people to work with what is sustainable. This includes rethinking consumption, prioritising second-hand and long-lasting pieces, and designing spaces that support slower ways of living.

OUR MISSION

We believe sustainable living starts by working with what is already there — finding ways to reuse, repurpose, and integrate old with new. We are interested in making spaces feel cohesive without erasing their history, and in creating beauty without creating waste.

In home projects, it is often easier to start from a blank canvas. To replace rather than reuse. To buy new, spend more, and remove anything that no longer feels “on trend.” But this ease comes with a cost — one that is too often invisible. Furniture, home goods, clothes, and everyday objects are discarded without a second thought, ending up in landfill while still holding value, function, and meaning.

Slowtrends exists to challenge that cycle.

Our mission extends beyond individual homes. We aim to work with charities, NGOs, and organisations across the UK and Europe to support vulnerable people and communities with limited access to household essentials. By helping circulate goods from homes that no longer need them to homes that do, we support both environmental responsibility and social impact.

We will also dedicate profits from the sales of our products to circular community initiatives, workshops, and research focused on meaningful carbon footprint reduction.

Ultimately, Slowtrends exists to unite two needs: helping people live at peace with their surroundings, and helping those who lack access to the most basic elements of a home. We believe these goals can be part of the same system, and that is the system we want to build.

ABOUT ME, ANDREA (founder)

Slowtrends was born in 2017 from a deep passion for sustainability, beautiful interiors, decorative objects, and products that are made with care and purpose. It started as a blog back then and it has returned in 2026 as the start of a long-term mission.

I do not follow trends, I'm interested in intention and simplicity, in habits that stay, in elements that last.

After an 18 year career in communications and project management, working in corporate sectors as diverse as Media, Marketing, and Architectural Visualisation, I completed a Diploma in Interior Design with the British Institute of Interior Design and decided to leave the corporate path behind to focus on helping people create spaces that feel meaningful, welcoming, and intentional — without the need for luxury furniture or extravagant design budgets.

Growing up in Valencia, I spent hours helping my dad redecorate the homes we lived in. Those early experiences sparked my curiosity about space, light, and how objects can shape the way we feel in a room. Later, I staged and styled homes in Spain, often working with what people already owned to enhance their value and appeal. Through these projects, I learned the power of thoughtful and resourceful ideation that can completely change spaces with very minimal expense.

I value beautiful design, but not at the expense of the planet or people. I believe in longevity over novelty, intention over convenience, and giving renewed meaning to what might otherwise be forgotten.

This belief was reinforced first-hand during the Valencia floods in November 2024, where the power of community enabled a large-scale circulation of goods. People from non-affected areas gave what they no longer needed, helping thousands of households rebuild their homes after losing everything. It was a reminder that reuse, when done collectively, can be immediate, dignified, and deeply impactful.

Now based in the UK, I bring a cross-cultural perspective to every project, blending Mediterranean warmth with international exposure. I build spaces where every world coexists — spaces that feel layered, lived-in, and quietly expressive. Driven by a love of timeless sustainable materials, objects that tell a story, natural textures, and design that feels both considered and human.

If you are looking to reshape a space, style your for sale or rental property, need inspiration on how to follow intentional living habits, or would simply need some advice on how to start decluttering and reorganising a room without creating a tone of waste, I'd love to hear from you.
